knives - andy warhol

Andy Warhol was the first artist I ever looked at, or cared about. It's safe he is the reason I am interested in art and for that I am eternally grateful. This particular piece is a little different than most of his work, it stands out from the Marilyns and soup can for sure. It's such a simple object with simple colors but yet it's compelling and shocking. That was Andy's life though, shock appeal. Kudos my man.

hasta la muerte - fransisco de goya

this is quite possibly my favorite picture of all time. which is quite bold of me to say, but this is the only piece of work that I ever felt attached to. It honestly depicts how I feel. 


The woman is not the most attractive ( most would say ugly ) but she looks in the mirror with her head held high and a smirk on her face. She knows she is beautiful. The women taunt and tease and tell her she is ugly, while the men tell her she is vain and conceited. But the woman is unaffected by their thoughts and continues to love herself just the same.
